چکیده

This article performs an analysis of current limitations regarding the extraction of parallel behavioral models to reproduce the power amplifier (PA) nonlinear behavior and its dynamics. To overcome these limitations, a general preprocessing block that clearly improves the identification capabilities shown by classical parallel structures is proposed. It follows the principle of separating both static and dynamic nonlinear behavior of the PA to obtain a better identification performance. A comparison with common parallel configurations using linear estimation is performed, to highlight the benefits of using the preprocessing structure. Furthermore, a new nonlinear parallel structure using sub-band filtering techniques is also proposed. For the models extraction and comparison, four types of noise-free simulated data presenting different levels of nonlinearities and memory, as well as a measured signal obtained from a laboratory amplifier have been considered. Vertical Contraction Joint Models for Nonlinear Dynamic Analysis of Concrete Arch Dam

Arch dams are generally built in cantilvever monoliths. Vertical contraction joints between monoliths control the stresses due to concrete shrinkage and temperature variations. Past studies in earthquake safety evaluation of the system often show the tensile fracture and local nonlinear deformation of joints. In this paper, some nonlinear joint element constitutive models are presented to exami...

A Comparative Study of Least-Squares and the Weak-Form Galerkin Finite Element Models for the Nonlinear Analysis of Timoshenko Beams

In this paper, a comparison of weak-form Galerkin and least-squares finite element models of Timoshenko beam theory with the von Kármán strains is presented. Computational characteristics of the two models and the influence of the polynomial orders used on the relative accuracies of the two models are discussed. The degree of approximation functions used varied from linear to the 5th order. In ...
